Starting an Advent Tradition as a Family

One of my favorite ways to be intentional during the Christmas season is to focus on celebrating advent. Over the past few years, this has become a favorite way for our family to unite, celebrate, and remember the reason we celebrate Christmas.

What is advent? Basically, it is the season leading up to Christmas day. It is a time where we focus our hearts on celebrating Jesus. There are tons of amazing tools, devotionals, and activities for the advent season. It can be a little overwhelming and sometimes the thought of one more thing at Christmas can put a negative spin on advent centered activities.

The last two years, we have started off advent with ready hearts and minds but then life got in the way. No matter how much I simplify our schedules, it can still be hard learning how to weave in advent with a busy family. Every year, I hear the same common frustration from friends as well. We all have good intentions, but Advent never really happens. So what do we do? We let go of the idea and figure it is just not going to work.

Seeing the common struggle weaved throughout my community,  I decided to create my own product. In just a couple weeks, I will be launching a shop selling Intentional Christmas Kits. I am beyond excited about this product and seeing it all come together.

There will be different variations of the kit so that it can fit with your unique family’s needs. My hope and prayer is that you will be able to use the Advent Family Kit without feeling the pressure of “just one more thing.” I pray it will draw your family closer together and closer to Christ.
