Looking for backyard pool tips? Check out these ideas!
Having a backyard pool has been essential for our family during the summer months. Over the years we have had different pools depending on the ages of our kids and it always provides endless fun.
One of the reasons I love having a pool in the backyard is because it creates at-home fun. Some of my best summer memories growing up are playing in our little backyard pool.
Since so many have asked about our pool and tips, I thought I would share some favorites here!
Backyard Pool Tips and Tricks
Pick out a Pool
There are many different options you can choose from. We have always used the Summer Waves pool and last year we moved up to the 15ft size, which has been a great fit. I love that it comes with the filter pump and it is very easy to put up. It is also very durable!
Before this pool, we had a smaller pool like this and loved it! I would switch out the water every few days.
Decide on a location for your pool.
Make sure the area you set up your pool is flat and free of any yard debris that could poke through the pool. As you consider your spot, realize the grass will be ruined here. For some people, this is not a big deal. However, I know that having nice grass can be a priority for some, so be aware of what is to come.
Other Pool Essentials
Pool Cover
Having a pool cover will help keep your pool clean. We have this pool cover for our 15 ft. pool.
Floating Chlorine Dispenser
This year we decided to have a floating chlorine dispenser and we have really liked it! It is helpful to maintain good levels.
Chlorine Test Strips
You will want to be able to test the levels in your pool. Since we are dealing with a smaller pool here, we use these test strips.
Skimmer
It is very helpful to have a pool skimmer. This can be used for daily cleaning of the pool as you will want to do your best to keep it clean.
Pool Vacuum
My sister has a pool vacuum and loves it. We will most likely be getting one to help maintain the cleaning of the pool.
