The tale of two trees- it is possible to decorate in November for Christmas and still celebrate Thanksgiving. In fact, I think it’s important to remember that neither holidays should be given just one month. Why is that? Two reasons:
1) Practicing gratitude in our lives daily is important- In my darkest seasons, writing out what I’m thankful for has been key to keeping my eyes on God and off the situation.
2) Christmas is the celebration of the gift of Jesus- I want to celebrate that daily not just once a year.

Have you ever felt like the holidays flew by and you didn’t do any of the things you wanted to? 🎄It’s the last day of the Holiday Prep & Organization series. Today is all about making time for family traditions. Here’s some quick tips:
1) Decide what the most important things are. Ask your kids what is one of their favorite family activities during Christmas.
2) Make a plan. Once you have a list of the activities, make a tentative plan.
3) Keep a list of extra activities. If you end up having free time, it can be nice to check out this list for ideas.
4) Remember less is more. Some of our favorite things are driving around to look at lights and Christmas movies. It’s simple and spending time together. You do not have to go over the top with Christmas fun!

It’s Day 4 of our Holiday Series and today @coffeepancakesdreams and I are sharing tips about clutter free holiday decor.
1) Embrace your decorating style. Everyone has a different style. Some like less and some like more. The key is to decorate in a way that brings YOU joy.
2) Decluttered as you decorate. If there are items in your holiday decor that you are not using, consider rehoming them. You don’t have to keep everything.
3) It doesn’t have to be perfect. Often we can get trapped in the comparison cycle as we view perfectly decorated trees and porches on social media. Let go of perfection- your home is not a magazine.
4) Don’t go in debt over decor. It takes time to add to a holiday decor collection. Let it take time and slowly add pieces that are timeless and meaningful.

1) Know your limits. You do not need to host or attend everything. Decide what the priority events are!
2) Instead of making a whole meal, do just appetizers and desserts.
3) Have people bring food to share so it isn’t all on you.
4) Leave open space in the calendar for impromptu gatherings!

How do we manage the chaos of the holiday season? It helps to ask these 4 questions:
1) What are your family traditions that you want to make sure happen?
2) How are you feeling emotionally this season? If you are in a hard season, be aware of that and do less.
3) What season of motherhood are you in? Each season hold challenges. Be mindful that what you are committing to fits your season.
4) What will your family say yes to and what will you say no to this holiday season? It is okay to say no to things, even good things. You cannot do it all.
