These five daily cleaning tasks will help you maintain a clean home.
Having five daily cleaning tasks can help you maintain a clean home as a busy mom. Spring cleaning is always a great refresher but then how do we maintain the work we did?
Have you ever felt completely overwhelmed by your home? Today, I want to encourage you to start doing these five daily tasks. I am confident that this simple routine will help you overcome the overwhelm in your home.
If you feel overwhelmed by the idea of starting all five, start with one and then slowly add in the other four. Rhythms take repetition so be willing to give this sometime.
5 Daily Cleaning Tasks for Moms
1. Do a morning pick-up.
During the morning pick up, I do the following:
Make sure the beds are made.
I make our bed and the kids make their beds. The daily task of the kids making their beds is part of their chores. With the kids’ beds, I am not looking for perfection, just for them to make them look nice. Having our bed made makes such a difference in the day. It is a simple task that barely takes time.
Wipe down the bathrooms.
This can sound like a lot but trust me it is so simple. Start by keeping the bathroom cleaner and cloth under the bathroom sink so you can easily wipe down the bathroom every morning. Normally, I do this right after I get ready. It really helps maintain a clean bathroom. This is not when I do a deep clean, it is literally just wiping down the counter, sink, and toilet quickly.
Bonus Tip for Boy Moms- Put a container of disinfecting wipes in your bathroom and train your boys to clean up if they make a mess.
2. Do a load of laundry.
Growing up, my mom always did laundry every day. This task is a game changer! Since we lean more towards a minimalist wardrobe, this is helpful too. Teach your kids to put their dirty clothes in the laundry room so it is easy to start a load right away in the morning.
3. Wipe down the counters.
After breakfast, lunch, and dinner do a quick wipe of the counters. You can keep a cleaner under the sink with some microfiber cloths or bar towels to help make this easy. Doing this in the evening will help you to wake up to a clean kitchen.
4. Check the floors.
Every evening, my husband or I do a quick clean of the main floors. It is super fast but helps us cut down on the dirt on our laminate floors. On a weekly basis, I run the vacuum. However, on a daily basis, I do a very quick sweep.
5. Do an evening pick-up.
The evening pick-up is essential because it will help you keep the clutter down. Usually, before bed, our family watches a show together, and then we do our bedtime routines. Before we watch the show, we all do a very quick pick-up of the house. Their rooms may stay cluttered, but this helps our main areas remain clean.

I love the cleaning tips in helping maintain a clean home. I was brought up in a very clean home as both my brother and I were adopted so I feel our home was so clean that a person could eat off our floors. Speaking of floors, I had the chore of washing and waxing our kitchen and bathroom floor on my knees every second week of the month.
