It is time for a little five on Friday. Every so often, I love to share five things I am loving lately. I know that in the mess and chaos of every day life, we can sometimes overlook the good. So my hope is that five on Friday will be a time to reflect on the good from the simple to the grand. Ready?

Most nights, we take time to read to the kids before they go to sleep. It is always a great way to connect and settle down before bed. Usually we read a fiction book of their choice and then either a devotional book or verses from the Bible. It is always so incredible to watch the Bible come alive to my kids during this time. Recently, I was given 100 Favorite Bible Verses for Children and we absolutely love it. Each day has a different verse and truth for the kids. It is perfect for little ones who may not have the attention for a long book. Since I love this book so much, I have decided to partner with Tommy Nelson in giving away a copy, so make sure to head over to Instagram to enter!
One of my goals this year is to really focus on taking care of myself. As moms, it is easy to become so consumed with caring for everyone else that you forget to care for yourself. The older I get, the more I realize I need to take the time. It is good for me and so good for Claire to watch me doing this. One very practical way is by taking care of my skin. Growing up, I was all about the sun and tanning beds. Living in Michigan, it was very common for everyone to tan. However, now I am all about protecting my skin. I started using Rodan and Fields products for my skin a few months ago and am loving them! If you have never tried Rodan and Fields, I highly recommend it!
This past weekend we opened up our Memory Jar from 2017. Over dinner, we took turns reading the memories from the past year. It was so much fun. We all laughed together as we reflected on the past year. This tradition is one of my favorites. You can easily put together your own memory jar or purchase a memory jar kit from my shop.
With my love for reading, I have a constant list of books to read. Currently, I am reading A Simplified Life by Emily Ley. Friends, this book is gold. It is full of practical tips and pairs perfectly with the Clear the Clutter Challenge. I cannot recommend it enough.
Whenever it is below 60 in South Carolina, I am freezing! Our house does not have insulation for cold weather so when it was down in the 20s at night, I was bundled in my robe, blankets, and slippers. My mom got me these comfy slippers for Christmas and I am in love with them. I love how warm they are and that they have a hard bottom.
What are five things you are loving? I hope you have a beautiful Friday and choose to find the good, even in the mess.
