Celebrate with some Fourth of July Family Fun! We love making mini American flags with some of our favorite treats. Paired with The Gathering Box from Faith & Family Collective, this is the perfect Patriotic family fun!
This post is in collaboration with Faith & Family Collective. I was generously given The Gathering Box in exchange for my review, but as always, all opinions stated are my own. Please read my policy for more information.
We love finding fun ways to celebrate as a family and often it involves a special treat. My kids love a special snack. If they get to be involved in the creation of it, they love it even more! This idea for Fourth of July family fun was especially fun as it involved some of our favorite treats combined into one!
Fourth of July Family Fun Snack
Ingredients:
- Graham Crackers
- White Frosting
- Blueberries
- Strawberries
Directions:
- Put together a sample of the snack so your kids have a visual to work from.
I used 3 blueberries in the corner and then sliced strawberries to create the red and white striped look. - Set up a station for each child.
On each of their plates, I put one graham cracker rectangle with frosting on it, sliced strawberries, and blueberries. - Let them create!
The kids then get to create their American flags! It was a great activity for some Fourth of July family fun!
For an added bonus of celebration, we used our Gathering Box for this activity! I hung the adorable Celebrate banner and set up the reflection card on the table. The kids remembered seeing the banner from their last day of school and immediately were excited! They had the visual reminder that today we were going to celebrate!
While the kids ate their flags, I talked about the Reflection Card. Each card includes a reflection, Scripture, and discussion questions. I love that there is a guide and you can then take it as deep as your family wants.
The Gathering Box is a hand-crafted resource designed for families- just like yours and mine! I am loving the box with the yellow theme! Inside the box was a handmade wooden display stand, a set of 20 reflection cards, and a fabric celebration banner.
I love the variety of reflection cards. They are the perfect reminder of the importance of celebrating the big and small moments of everyday life. One of them says, “Celebrate Monday” which I think will be perfect for the school year!
