We love having freezer waffles on hand for a quick and easy breakfast. These are the perfect breakfast option to have on hand for busy families.
I am all about making things easy in the mornings. Having quick breakfast options such as freezer waffles on hand help the morning go smoother. All they have to do is get a waffle from the freezer bag, pop it in the toaster, and it is ready to go! Simple and offers variety in their breakfast.
Now, I know you are probably saying, well just buy the waffles from the store! Yes, of course I could do that, and sometimes I do. However, making my own freezer waffles really only take a short amount of time on the weekend. Plus, it saves money and I can have control over what ingredients are in the waffles.
My favorite way to make freezer waffles, is to make a double or triple batch of waffles one morning when we do not have a lot going on. It works well because the kids can eat a few waffles while I cook them.
Freezer Waffles
Ingredients:
1 cup all purpose flour
3/4 cup whole wheat flour (or you can use all purpose flour)
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
2 eggs
1 3/4 cup milk or almond milk
1/2 cup cooking oil or butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
Mix together and pour batter onto waffle iron.
* Sometimes I will add bananas, blueberries, strawberries, or a little cinnamon.
Once they are finished let them cool on a plate. Then place in a freezer bag. I can usually stack a few into one bag. Whenever your family wants to have one for breakfast, all they have to do is open the bag and pop it in the toaster! Super easy breakfast!
What about you?
Does your family like waffles? What are your go-to breakfast options that help make the morning go smoother?

Yes! I freeze pancakes all the time but making waffles would actually be easier LOL – thanks for the inspiration.
