Directions for Frozen Dinosaur Eggs
I typically prepare these the night before.
- Put one dinosaur into each balloon. This can be a little tricky but you just have to really stretch the balloon open wide. Tip: Once I use all of the dinosaurs, I just reuse them for the balloons.
- Fill the balloon with some water. You want it to be about the size of a tennis ball.
- Tie the balloon closed and freeze!
Have fun playing!
When you are ready to play, simply cut the balloon tie off and peel the balloon off the ice. You will have a ball of ice (the dinosaur egg) that has a mini dinosaur in it. Then let your kids figure out how to get the dinosaur out.
Sometimes my kids will drop the ice on the sidewalk to see it break and other times they put it in a bucket of water or let it melt in the sun. Once July and August hit, the southern heat can usually melt these rather quickly!
This easy summer activity is always a big hit with the kids and something we can do throughout the summer.
You can also do this activity with other small plastic toys!
