Ever feel like a grumpy mom? Here is a little hope for you!
My grumpy mom side likes to come out often. In fact, it is one of the most surprising parts of motherhood that I have experienced. As a naturally optimistic person, I always envisioned motherhood full of glorious moments. What I did not envision were the struggles.

Somehow, my dreams of motherhood did not include sleepless nights, toddler tantrums, anger, fits, and so many other things. Yet, motherhood does include these things, along with all of the sweet things.
Naturally, adjusting to the not so lovely side of motherhood was a challenge and spurred on my desire to learn how to thrive, not just survive mom life. This is why when given the opportunity to read and review Valerie Woerner’s new book, Grumpy Mom Takes a Holiday, I was more than willing to!
Grumpy Mom Takes a Holiday Book Review
I have always loved following along with Valerie and loves using her prayer journal from her shop. Her book did not disappoint. It has become one of my favorite books so far this year!
Throughout the book, you are encouraged to choose a different path of mom life than what the world often reflects. Instead of living stuck in survival mode, we are encouraged to step closer to God. When we do this, we are then able to actually have joy in all the moments, not just the sweet ones.
At the end of every chapter, there are some action steps, a key verse, and a prayer. This book would be perfect to go through with a friend or a group of friends. It would also be a great gift for a friend!
One of the best parts of the book is that Valerie reminds us that we will still have our grumpy moments. However, we will not remain stuck but know WHO to run to in those moments.
