Habits for a Healthy Evening Routine
Do a quick clean up.
Before we settle everyone down for bed, we do a quick clean up of the house. While things are not necessarily clean, they are picked up which helps my mind start to relax.
Take time to relax.
Personally, I do a lot of my writing in the evening, however I started to see how I was rarely taking any time to simply relax. A habit I am working on in my evening routine is to relax. Sometimes this means I pick up a book to read and other times it means I watch a show on Netflix. Either way, take time to relax.
Wash your face.
Honestly, this used to be a big struggle for me! However, I have been working on this! I have seen how important this is and now take time every evening to wash my face and then apply lotion.
Make sure your bed is set up for good, quality sleep.
A goal for me this year is to set up our bed for good sleep. This means investing in a good memory foam mattress such as the GhostBed memory foam mattress. It also means picking up comfortable sheets and comforter. These may seem like simple things but they are vital parts of your evening routine.
Read in bed, don’t scroll!
In the past, I had a bad habit of scrolling on my phone in bed. Honestly, sometimes it left me feeling a little less than. So I decided to plug it up and leave my bed phone free. If I am not quite tired, I read instead! I love having our lamp from Brightech next to my bed. There is a place for me to plug my phone in to charge from the lamp. Plus, the lamp allows me to easily read in bed with the soft glow of light.
These are some of the habits I am focusing on for helping me have a relaxing evening routine. What habits do you focus on for your evening routine?
