Heroes of the Bible: Abraham Activities
Read: Son of Laughter (Genesis 12-21)
If the hero is featured in the Jesus Storybook Bible, I share which story to read. There is also the chapters in the Bible that focus on this hero’s story. Do not feel like you have to read all of the chapters shared. Instead take time to read it and pull out truths and main points. In the activity pack, there is a “Tying it Together” sheet that gives parents the main points and questions to ask.
Verse: Genesis 15:5
Cut out the verse card for Abraham and place somewhere central for your family to review. Use the verse coloring sheet to color or paint and then the kids can place it in their rooms.
Create: Stars Painting
This is such a fun and simple art activity using watercolors and salt. Get the full instructions in the activity pack. As you create the paintings together, talk about the stars and Abraham.
Action: Follow the Leader
One person will lead a blindfolded family member around the house. Afterwards you can talk about trusting each other and how we trust God even when we cannot see what is ahead. You can also play a simple game of follow the leader and take turns being the leader.
Hands On: Build Marshmallow Constellations
Your kids will love this activity! Use toothpicks and marshmallows to create your own constellations.
Snack: Jello Stars
Make jello and if you can, cut out stars!
