Learn how to make bubble snakes for some at-home fun!
Bubble snakes are one of our favorite at-home activities! They have been a favorite since we first tried them a few years ago. The best part is you can make this activity using items you already have around your home!
This activity is perfect for elementary-aged kids!

How to Make Bubble Snakes
Gather the supplies.
- Empty water or soda bottle.
- Old Sock
- Rubber band (not essential)
- Dish Soap
- Container
- Food Coloring (Optional)
Put together the bubble blower.
Cut off the bottom of a water or soda bottle.
Slide an old sock over the open bottom. You can secure with a rubber band, but lately, we have not and it has worked well!
That is it! Your bubble blower is ready to be used!
Mix up the bubble solution.
Put some dish soap and water in a shallow container and stir slowly. You can add in food coloring if desired to get rainbow bubbles.
Ready to play with bubble snakes?
Before you get started, remind your kids to blow air out not in! Have your child dip the sock side into the soapy water. Then they blow and the bubble snake will start to appear!
Naturally, my kids love to make tons of bubbles and put them in their hair and see them fly around the yard. It is always fun seeing the bubbles flying around!
It is important to remind your kids to blow air out and not suck air in!
If they suck in they will have bubbles in their mouth. Younger kids will need constant reminders with this. Do this activity with parental supervision and have fun! If you have a toddler, you could be the one to blow the bubbles and let them play with them!
Bubbles are always a fun way for kids of all ages to play! Have fun with your kids during this activity! Make one bubble blower for each child so they can all have their own bubble fun. This is a great way to use all those old socks!
