Carving out time for screen free family fun is something that can truly connect and grow your family. Every month, I will be sharing a list of simple and fun screen free activities for your family to enjoy! We are kicking this off with some activities for March!
Life is busy. Between sports, church, and other commitments, our schedules can quickly become full. When we do have family time, it is so easy to just slide in front of a screen. Trust me, I have been there a million of times.
However, one thing we have been focusing on being intentional with is creating screen free moments. We love having family movie nights but we also love being able to run around together or laugh over a game together.
March Screen Free Family Fun
We started creating a monthly list of family fun activities and I thought it would be fun to share it with you all! Sometimes, we just need a little reminder of some fun ideas. Plus, it is good for me to have this hanging up so I can visually see it. Sometimes, I need a reminder to slow down and make time for these little moments.
A lot of our March family fun activities are outside since it is the perfect time of the year to have fun together outside. However, there are also some great ones inside as well!
There is also a blank sheet. This is for you to write down everything you do this month. Then at the end of the month, you can see all of the fun your family had! It can be big or small! One month, we wrote down catching a frog outside because it brought us so many smiles!
Trouble breaking the screen habit?
If you find it hard to break the screen habit, find a landing zone for your screens. Whether it is a box or a basket or just a specific shelf, having a spot where they all rest is helpful. Lead by example and put your phone up and then have family time.
What about taking photos?
One time I realized I was so into taking photos and then reviewing them that I was missing out on the moments. Instead, I started taking photos and then putting my phone back in my bag. Then, at a later time, I would go through the photos. It really helps you to stay present in the moment.
