Having a clean skincare routine was something that became important to me a couple of years ago. My kids all have sensitive skin so I have always been careful about what products we use. Using clean products was always my goal, but I neglected making it important for the procuts I was using.
However, the more I read about toxins and hormone disrupting ingredients in a lot of beauty products, I knew it was time to make a change.
I had heard about Beautycounter and decided to give them a chance. What I discovered was a clean skincare routine that works!

My Clean Skincare Routine
All of Beautycounter’s collections and regimens follow the clense, prep, treat, protect steps. Let’s break it down.
Cleanse
Every morning and evening, I take time to wash my face. This is such a simple rhythm but it has made such a difference. I like to use the Countercontrol Clear Pore Cleanser in the morning and the Countertime Lipid Defense Cleansing Oil in the evening.
Prep
This is known as the toning step. Depending on what you want, you will either use a toner or an essence. I am currently using the Countertime Mineral Boost Hydrating Essence.

Treat
This is where you target your primary skincare concerns. For this step, you may have a few different products that you use. I like to use the Countertime Tripeptide Radiance Serum as it contains a natural version of retinol and the All Bright C Serum in the morning. I typically use the vitamin c serum a few times a week.
In the evening, I use the radiance serum again and every other night I use the Counter + Overnight Resurfacing Peel. You can actually get this peel and the charcoal mask for FREE when you join as a Band of Beauty Member (you must have an order over $50).
Protect
This is your moisturizing step. Daytime moisturizer is more lightweight and great for under makeup. The nighttime moisturizer is generally more ticker and helps repair your skin while you sleep.
You can just use a daytime moisturizer and then add in a nighttime moisturizer later. I love the Countermatch Adaptive Moisture Lotion and have found it works for basically everyone. For nighttime, I love the Countertime Tetrapeptide Supreme Cream.
