Looking for nature themed activities to do right in your own backyard? These five activities are perfect to do while exploring the world right outside your door.
While I love heading to a park or the beach, I also love being home- in our own backyard. There is something so relaxing about being in your own backyard. I love the simplicity of these nature themed activities.
The purpose of the Summer Weekly Activities series is to provide busy moms with some simple and fun themed activities for summer. Instead of trying to do all of the things every single day, I have found it to be helpful and freeing to do one fun activity a day. Some weeks we may do all five activities and other weeks just one, but having a list of activities on hand has helped us thrive during the summer.
If you want all 11 weeks of summer activities NOW, you can purchase the entire PDF pack for $10 HERE in my shop. It also includes some bonuses!

Supplies: TP rolls, String, Crayons/Stickers
Directions: Tape two TP rolls together to create binoculars. Attach a string to them so you can wear them around your neck. Decorate the binoculars by coloring them and adding some stickers.
Move: Nature Hunt
Supplies: Nature hunt printable
Directions: Head outside with your nature hunt printable in hand. There is a blank one for you to put your own items in or you can use the one I already filled out. This is a fun activity to do with the binoculars as they can search for the items in nature with them.
Explore: Nature Collage
Supplies: Paper, Glue
Directions: Head outside with some paper and glue. Tell your kids to explore the backyard (you could have them use their binoculars during this). Look for fallen leaves, pieces of grass, sticks, etc. Use these to create a nature collage.
Feel: Flower Prints
Supplies: Flowers, Play dough
Directions: Get some cut flowers for this activity. Set out the play dough and let the kids press flowers into the play dough to see the different prints! You can also use the flower play dough mat with this. Print the mat and put into a clear plastic cover. Tape it to your table to secure it.
