Having a playlist for the hard moments has been key for helping me to survive the hard days of motherhood.
Some days seem like they are full of more hard moments than good. It can feel like nothing is going right. Perhaps it is a parenting struggle or challenges with your marriage or financial struggles, whatever it may be I know how hard it can be when it feels like the struggles are growing by the second.
Recently, I had one of those days.. It started off with me oversleeping. Over the course of the day it seemed like everything that could go wrong went wrong. My husband and I argued, there was financial strain, the dog’s leash snapped, a child had struggles with anger, and the garbage disposal got clogged only to explode its’ contents all over my husband.
It was a day of hard moments.
However, even in the hard moments, even when it seems like there is more chaos than calm, I know God is present and working. I am learning that it is often all of these things that distract me. I shared on Instagram how worship has become something I run to when it is a hard day. In the past, I would want to run to any other comfort whether it be food, a drink, social media, television, etc. It would be a quick fix and ultimately a band-aid over a deeper pain.
What I have found is that when I run to worship, my eyes begin to focus back on God and off of my circumstances. While worship does not immediately fix my struggle, it does fix my perspective.
This playlist is for the hard moments in motherhood. It is for when you feel weary and need a breath of fresh air. I hope that when you listen, you will instantly be reminded of who you are in Christ and that God is with you!
