Try room-by-room spring cleaning to simplify your process!
The room-by-room spring cleaning approach can help you stay focused in the process. Honestly, I have found it very helpful to focus on one room at a time. This may take a few days, depending on the size of the house and the amount of clutter.
If you have ever felt overwhelmed by other schedules, give this one a try!

Tips for Using the Room-by-Room Spring Cleaning Method
Use a checklist.
You can download my checklists along with cleaning tips here. This will help you to have a list of what to do in each space.
Gather up your supplies.
You will want to put together a caddy of the essentials to have on hand. Check out my favorite DIY cleaning recipes to try!
- Magic Eraser
- Cleaning Rags
- All-Purpose Spray
- Window Cleaner
- Duster (either a spray or tool)
- Broom and/or Vacuum
- Toilet Cleaner and Brush
- Trash Bag
Decide when you will clean.
Typically, I like to do this on a weekend. It can be really hard to add in spring cleaning during the week so I pick a Saturday that I can get a lot of it finished. This year, I broke it up into 2 separate Saturdays.
Make it fun!
Check out a fun podcast or book to listen to while you clean. Turn on some music. Involve your kids! When you are finished, give yourself a reward!
