Ideas to celebrate teacher appreciation week from home.
Looking to celebrate teacher appreciation week from home? Over the past couple of months, we have not been in the school buildings, but the teachers are still working hard. This week is the annual National Teacher Appreciation Week and while we cannot celebrate in person, we can still celebrate!
5 Ways to Celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week from Home
Send a letter or email.
Have your child write their teacher a thank you note or email to say thank you. For many teachers, a simple thank you goes such a long way. I know my husband still has the thank you cards that he has received over the years.
Draw a picture for teacher appreciation week.
If your child is not able to write yet, consider having them draw a picture to send their teacher! This is a fun way for kids to enjoy some art and send a little love to their teacher.
Send a recorded message.
Many of us have been doing distance learning and are using technology daily to communicate with the teachers. Use the platform your teacher has been using to send a recorded message of your child saying thank you! This little thank you can go a long way.
Take a picture holding a sign.
Have your child write thank you or a short note on a piece of paper. Then take a picture of your child and send the picture via email to the teacher. If you are able to communicate with the other parents, it would be fun to gather photos of all of the students to put in a collage.

Send a gift card.
If you are able to spend a little money, consider getting a gift card. A gift card to Amazon or a local restaurant would be a great way to say thank you!
These five ideas are simple ways you can say thank you to teachers this year. While parents have been overseeing the education at home, the teachers are still working so hard. They are calling students who are missing work, setting up video calls, teaching via screens, teaching while handling their own kids at home, trying to be creative with online learning, and so much more. This has been such a hard time on everyone, so it is great to show a little appreciation in a small way!
