Even though it may not be spring yet, I am already thinking about spring cleaning. In years past, I have failed miserably at any sort of spring cleaning. It is hard to keep a house semi-clean as a mom, let alone attempt a deep clean! However, I have learned that taking time to prepare and have a plan of action is key!
Since I know it can be hard to come up with a plan of action for spring cleaning, I put together a spring cleaning challenge for you! I plan to start this March 1st and do one task a day. However, if you prefer to spring clean over a weekend, you could do that as well! This is the perfect time to get started because Dollar General has a great deal where you can spend $15 and save $5!
3 Tips to Prepare for Spring Cleaning
As you can see in the challenge, we are going to focus on all the areas of the home. I recently used STAINMASTER® High Traffic Cleaner on our carpet by the front door and was amazed at the difference!
Stock up on cleaning supplies.
Once you get into the cleaning mode, you do not want to have to run out for supplies. Take time to do this ahead of time! Dollar General has a great deal where you can spend $15 and save $5. My daughter and I were there the other day to pick up our supplies. Clorox, Georgia-Pacific, and Henkel products are all the perfect brands to help with this task. Make sure when you are in Dollar General to look at the bottom shelves, as that is where we found our STAINMASTER® products!
Some of my necessities for spring cleaning are:
- Clorox® Toilet Bowl Cleaner (perfect for getting the toilets clean!)
- Pine-Sol® (favorite for washing floors and baseboards)
- Sparkle® Paper Towels (use throughout your entire home)
- STAINMASTER® Carpet Pet Stain Remover (the best for all pet owners)
- STAINMASTER® High Traffic Cleaner (for that carpet by the front door)
- all® Laundry Detergent (to wash your laundry)
Give yourself grace.
Friends, if your current season is full of a lot, let go of spring cleaning. Maybe it is not meant to be right now and that is okay. Hire someone to do it for you- there is no shame in that! Doing that may allow you freedom to invest more fully into something else. Know yourself and your limits.
Are you ready to start spring cleaning?! Take the time now to gather your supplies and print your schedule so you are ready! Remember to take advantage of the deal at Dollar General where you can spend $15 and save $5. Share it with your friends so they can join in as well!
